Doutor em Direito (J.D., Juris Doctor) pela Universidade de Yale e Bacharel em História pela Universidade de Yeshiva, é professor de Processo Civil, Direito Constitucional, Direito Administrativo e Legislação da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade da Georgia, tendo sido instrutor na Universidade de Stanford. Recebeu em 2013 o prêmio Ronald Ellington pela excelência no ensino, tendo ainda assessorado o Juiz Thomas J. Meskill na Corte de Apelações dos Estados Unidos (Segundo Circuito), e assessorado também o Juiz Robert N. Chatigny na Corte Distrital dos Estados Unidos (Distrito de Connecticut).
